Drury hosts commencement ceremonies May 10-11

Drury celebrates its 150th graduating classes! Students in DruryGO and graduate school will be honored on May 10. Day School undergraduate students will be honored on May 11.

Let's meet one of our graduating Panthers: Amrut Iyengar!

Amrut is an international student from Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He is a biochemistry major, behavioral neuroscience minor, and has completed the "Data Analytics: Big Problems, Big Data Solutions" certificate. On campus, he helps with the International Student Association's events and connects with international and diverse students who are new to campus.

Men's, Women's Tennis celebrates international students named All-GLVC

Drury is an NCAA Division II school, a part of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). Coaches from the league vote each year to honor distinguished student-athletes. This year, Drury celebrates six tennis athletes named to the All-GLVC teams.

What can you explore in Drury's Engineering programs?

Beginning Fall 2024, students can earn Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

So, what are some of the paths you can take?

Electrical Engineering

  • Medicine: Learn the science behind pacemakers and medical scanning technology
  • Communication: Explore digital and global communication systems, including cell phone technology and control systems

Mechanical Engineering

  • Robotics and machinery: Explore how mechanical devices are made to be strong and safe
  • Transportation: Learn the science behind how we get around. Explore anything from cars to rollercoasters to rockets!

🐾 CAMPUS LIFE

Hispanic/Latin Society hosts first event

Sociedad de Orgullo Latino (Proud Latin Society) is a student organization dedicated to sharing Hispanic and Latin culture with the Drury community. On May 3, the group will host an event called "Necesitas SOL" for the community to get to know the organization. This event will feature free food, music, games, and giveaways for participants.

Black United Independent Collegiate (B.U.I.C.) honors its members

B.U.I.C. is an organization dedicated to sharing Black and African American culture with the rest of campus. Students involved in the organization also bring awareness to cultural empowerment and racial inequalities in the wider society. This year, B.U.I.C. was honored by Drury as the Student Organization of the Year.

B.U.I.C. also introduced five awards within their organization that members can earn each year. These include new member involvement, community engagement, awareness, empowerment, and academic excellence.

Drury Allies partners with local community for Campus Coalition Protest

On May 3, students, staff, and local community members joined together to show their support for Palestine. The protest was organized by a coalition made up of nine different local organizations hoping to educate the public on the Israel-Hamas war. The sit-in peaceful protest specifically called for financial transparency and for leaders to show their support for a cease-fire.

Drury hosts senior celebrations for graduating Panthers

On May 8, senior students can attend the annual Senior Celebration. Students will celebrate their time at Drury with their friends. The event will feature an award ceremony, gifts, and free food. Students can also take photos at a professional photobooth and watch a memories video.

On May 11, Drury will host its first Panther Bash following the commencement ceremony. Participants will enjoy food, trivia, and entertainment while interacting with other alumni. This event is for all alumni, including this year's graduating class.
