Laura Pareja is a Drury University alumna who graduated in May of 2022. Laura is originally from Granda, Spain and says the athletics department drew her to Drury. During her time here, she was a member of the Swimming and Diving Team and studied Computer Science and Mathematics. Currently, Laura is attending an internship in Geneva, Seitzerland with the European Center of Nuclear Research. CERN is the world’s largest and well-respected particle physics laboratory. CERN internship positions are highly competitive; there were 3000 applicants for Laura’s program and just over 100 were selected.
“I would not be here without my professors who went above and beyond in helping me with the application and with everything else during my 4 years at Drury,” Laura says, “They do not only care about your education but also about you as a person.”
Laura is at CERN for 3 months and is researching the possibility of changing the storage technology from block storage to object storage.
